Matt Roloff and Caryn Chandler are going their separate ways more than two years after announcing their engagement.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Little People, Big World<\/em>\u00a0patriarch, 63, announced the couple\u2019s decision to end their engagement in an Instagram post on July 22.<\/p>\n

\u201cHi everyone, I have some tough news to share,\u201d he wrote. \u201cCaryn and I have decided to part ways & end our engagement. Life\u2019s a continued journey and this is the right step for us at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe remain amicable and will always appreciate the many wonderful memories we have shared,\u201d he continued. \u201cYour support means the World to me and I\u2019m committed to moving forward with positivity and trust in the path ahead. Much love to all.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pair first met when Chandler became an employee of Roloff Farms. They began dating in 2017, one year after Roloff and his former wife Amy Roloff divorced.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Over the years, Roloff was very candid about his love for Chandler on\u00a0Little People Big World,\u00a0<\/em>sharing during the show\u2019s 20th season that his\u00a0\u201cgoal\u201d was to \u201ceventually\u201d get married\u00a0to her. Chandler echoed the same sentiments at the time, saying, \u201cI\u2019m here for the long haul.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we\u2019re all trying to overcome whatever stuff we have because we\u2019re going to be together,\u201d Chandler said at the time. \u201cIt\u2019s always going to probably be a little bit awkward no matter what we do, but it\u2019s getting better and we just roll with the punches.\u201d<\/p>\n

Roloff hasn\u2019t been shy about his praise for Chandler either, calling her his\u00a0\u201crock\u201d\u00a0in a 2021 Instagram post. \u201cShe [knows] how to take some random structure I build and make it come alive with energy and soul. #livingourbestlife,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

The two eventually moved in together \u2014 with Roloff calling the endeavor in an August 2022\u00a0LPBW\u00a0<\/em>episode \u201ca whole new major chapter in life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter six wonderful years together, I asked Caryn to marry me and she said yes!\u201d Roloff told PEOPLE. \u201cOur plan is to enjoy our engagement and we are looking forward to a simple but elegant wedding in 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n

A month later, he shared an update on\u00a0Instagram, saying that he\u2019s \u201cmaking TV shows and mostly just enjoying my engagement and Time with\u00a0Caryn [Chandler]!\u201d In an additional comment on the post, Roloff jokingly told his fans: \u201cYou all kept telling me to \u2018put a ring on her,\u2019\u201d adding, \u201cSo I did.\u00a0\"\ud83d\udc8d\".\u201d<\/p>\n

Roloff shares four children with ex Amy:\u00a0Zach Roloff, 34,\u00a0Molly Roloff, 30,\u00a0Jeremy Roloff, 34, and Jacob, 28. More than five years after she and Matt finalized their\u00a0divorce\u00a0in April 2016, Amy\u00a0married\u00a0Chris Marek\u00a0in August 2021. She and Matt, plus Chris and Caryn, maintain a\u00a0friendly relationship.<\/p>\n

In an April 2024 episode of\u00a0Little People, Big World<\/em>, Caryn opened up about creating boundaries with Roloff\u2019s family.<\/p>\n

\u201cBlending families, that\u2019s a tough one,\u201d Caryn told cameras at the time. \u201cSome go better than others, in my case I\u2019ve learned that boundaries are healthy in second relationships. I don\u2019t have any regrets about the relationship that existed and getting close to the kids but I learned a valuable lesson that maybe sometimes less is more, so I\u2019m treading lightly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite their tumultuous relationship, Caryn added that she believed \u201ceveryone is happy for us overall.\u201d<\/p>\n
