My Big Fat Fabulous Life star Whitney Thore set the record straight about her father Glenn Thore‘s health in the wake of online speculation that he died.
“I keep seeing this rumor—and I haven’t mentioned it to my dad because I just don’t want to upset him—but like all over my social media, like, I heard Glenn Thore died and all this,” Whitney told Parade during a recent, exclusive interview.
It’s unclear how the false rumors began. However, TLC teased a health scare involving Whitney’s dad at the end of Season 13, Episode 1.
“Have you talked to Dad?” Whitney’s brother, Hunter Thore, asked during a phone call in the brief clip. “I’ve been calling him all day. He hasn’t answered me.”
“I’ll just go into the security camera,” Whitney said before gasping when she saw their dad lying on the floor in his house. “Oh my God. Call 911!”
Despite what it looked like, Whitney assured Parade that Glenn was doing well today.
“Daddy is alive and well,” she insisted, adding that the situation was “one of the scariest and funniest—you’ll find out why—and craziest incidents that I’ve ever gone through in my life.”
Whitney continued, “It was to this day, it’s a story he’ll never live down. He will never live it down. So yes, people can be excited to see how that plays out. It’s hilarious, but he is alive and well.”
Additionally, she shared, “I relive it at least twice a week in my mind. Yeah. We call him Glenn Floor now because we found him on the floor.”
In the Season 13 finale, viewers learned what really happened: Glenn took too many CBD gummies, felt light-headed and fell asleep after lying on the floor.
