Gold Derby is serving up Big Brother 28 spoilers all summer long. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

In the lead-up to the 10th live eviction episode of Big Brother on Sept. 17, Head of Household Yash Patel was bound by Dee Valladares’ bribe to keep the icons (Dee and Rick Devens) safe from the block. Yash initially nominated Barrett Pfeiffer, Drew Campbell, and Melody Morris for eviction, but when Drew won the 13-hour Pressure Cooker Veto and removed himself from the hot seat, Yash had no other option but to put up his closest ally, Taylor Brown, as the renom.

But that’s not all. Host Julie Chen Moonves informed the houseguests something that viewers were already well aware of: tonight’s episode was a two-hour double eviction. That meant, by the end of the evening, the Top 7 would officially become the Top 5. After all was said and done, one contestant was so upset they said “It’s so f–king stupid” on live television.

Let’s break down the key highlights from Thursday night, from the final Block Buster competition of Season 28, through both live evictions, and culminating with the fight to become the Week 11 Head of Household, beginning with:

FINAL BLOCK BUSTER

In the Block Buster comp, Melody, Barrett, and Taylor had to maneuver five balls from one end of a curved track to the other end. After about two minutes of trial and error, Barrett and Melody both secured their first balls into their plastic tubes. Melody then landed her second, third, and fourth balls while Barrett managed to score his second. And with one more successful swing of her track, Melody got her fifth ball and won the final Block Buster. This officially marks Melody’s first competition win of the summer, and it couldn’t have come at a better time.

1ST LIVE EVICTION

Upon returning to the house, Barrett and Taylor made their final pitches to stay, and with only four people voting, Yash would serve as the potential tie-breaker. One by one, the eligible houseguests entered the Diary Room and cast their votes to evict: Dee for Barrett, Devens for Barrett, Drew for Barrett, and Melody for Taylor. By a vote of 3-1, Barrett was evicted from the house. In lieu of goodbye hugs, Barrett jumped over the coffee table, picked up his bag, and raced out the front door. His final words? “Don’t trust Chuk!”

In an accidental production snafu, the houseguests discovered that Melody’s face was greyed out on the Memory Wall, despite her winning the Block Buster. Barrett’s face also turned grey. “What the hell?!” Melody screamed as the others laughed. “I know y’all didn’t just do that right now. That’s a bad omen. I’m gonna need five-thousand dollars in compensation, ’cause what the hell is that about? They really didn’t believe in me.”

LIVE HOH & NOMS

In “Bleeping Through Time,” everyone but outgoing HOH Yash had to answer questions about bleeped-out phrases. The person with the highest number of correct answers after seven rounds would become the new Head of Household. Devens and Melody started on equal footing, being tied after three questions. But by the sixth round, Melody had taken the lead, and she stayed there after the final question. Ladies and gentlemen, we have ourselves a new comp beast! As the new HOH, Melody had mere moments to name her two nominees.

After the commercial break, Melody expectedly announced that her two nominees were Dee and Devens. “This is something I’ve been talking about since day one,” she explained. The two “very, very cool” (her words) Survivor legends would have just one option to save themselves in the live Power of Veto competition, coming up next.

LIVE VETO & RENOM

In “Great Ball of China,” the six remaining players had to complete a puzzle on a long platform and then roll a ball down the lane. Yes, this is eerily similar to the last Block Buster, so did that maybe give the edge to Melody? Apparently not! Devens was the first person to finish his puzzle and successfully roll his ball down the track, winning the Power of Veto and securing himself safety. Fun fact: this was the third week in a row that Devens saved himself on eviction night after winning the prior two Block Busters.

With Devens taking himself off the block, Melody only had three options to replace him with: Taylor, Drew, and Yash. Taylor tried her best to convince Melody to keep her safe, and it actually seemed to work. After yet another commercial break, Melody announced that Yash was her renom. That meant either Dee or Yash would soon be the second person evicted from the house.

2ND LIVE EVICTION

Back live, and the F-bombs were flying! Julie asked the three eligible houseguests to cast their eviction votes. Devens and Drew voted against Yash, while Taylor voted against Dee. Thus, by a vote of 2-1, Yash was evicted from the house. Against all odds, Devens and Dee both survived double eviction night. “It’s so f–king stupid,” Taylor was seen uttering on live television.

NEXT HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD (updating)

Hours after the double eviction, the remaining houseguests will take part in the Week 11 Head of Household competition. Everyone except outgoing HOH Melody is eligible to play. Keep refreshing this article as we’ll update it as soon as the live feeds return and reveal the identity of the new Head of Household.
